Roger O’Brien (left) and Art Schumann (right) have spent more than 60 combined years in a variety of business endeavors. Both started out as CPA’s with one of the major international public accounting firms where they consulted with numerous companies in many diverse industries. After nearly 10 years each, they went on to private industry where they worked in senior management positions ranging from CFO to President to CEO in retail, manufacturing, real estate, general business consulting and service-related industries.

They jointly operated a small business consulting and merger and acquisition firm which ultimately resulted in the acquisition for their own account of a retailer/manufacturer in 1989.  Together they built the company into a regional industry leader with sales in excess of $120 million and more than 180 stores.  In 1996 and 1997, they were finalists in the Entrepreneur of the Year Award.  They left the company in late 2000 after profitably selling it to a venture capital group.  Subsequently, they decided to market their diverse business consulting skills to companies ranging in size and sophistication from newly formed startups to small and medium sized companies.  It was on this basis that Finite Horizons was started.
